Featured Films
Five featured films act as the contextual basis The Domestic Lair, each presenting cinematic and architectural examples of how the double framing—the objectification and confinement of the feminine body by layers of both camera and architecture—in domestic spaces portrayed as lairs in film defends the symbolic linkage proposed between the objectification of women in the domestic realm, boundary-making, and global systems of capitalism.
The five films will be screened in the slocum auditorium AT sYRACUSE uNIVERSITY, starting at 7 PM, during the months of March and april 2025; see screening schedule below.
